Zachary Lagha, Figure Skater & Pianist


Zachary Lagha is born on April 15, 1999 in Quebec (Canada). Passionate and talented, he started to skate and play piano simultaneously at the age of 5. Zachary grew up in a family where art and culture are very important. Both his parents are engineers. His mother is also a pianist and has a graduate diploma in piano interpretation from Concordia university. She was his first piano teacher and is still his mentor. Zachary also went to Felix Leclerc music primary school, where he had many opportunities that helped him grow as musician, like singing with Montreal I Musici chamber orchestra, acting in Broadway style plays and dancing. Zachary has always been very fond of ballet as well. When he was 14, he wanted to become a professional ballet dancer. He finally opted to pursue his studies in dance on the ice, as a dance figure skater.
Today, Zachary is still highly active in music, and works regularly the piano, preparing for competitions and concerts.

Zachary Lagha in concert with OSMM, Montreal Zachary started ice-dance in 2011 with Julien Lalonde in LMK International School, where he was also training in Free Style. Since 2016, he trains in The Ice Academy of Montreal (I.AM) with the team of coaches including Romain Haguenauer, Marie-France Dubreuil, Patrice Lauzon and Pascal Denis, as well as josée Piché, Benjamin Brisebois and Scott Moir. I.AM team also includes ballroom professor Ginette Cournoyer, dance professors Eva Airapetian and Samuel Chouinard. With his partner Marjorie Lajoie, they are part of Canada National team 2023/24 and recognized by Patinage Québec as "Athlete Excellence". They are olympic athletes since the last Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Along with his training, Zachary actually studies in Concordia University, where he is registered in Contemporary Danse & Choregraphy program (BFA).
